The Swisscave Classic 555 WLA-555F is a freestanding wine storage cabinet for 360 Bordeaux bottles, 201.5 cm high and 69 cm wide. It belongs to the Swisscave Classic Edition and is built for long-term storage and ageing: one temperature zone, adjustable from 5 to 20 °C, keeps the whole collection at the same, constant temperature.
Behind the solid black door the bottles rest on five beech wood shelves, away from light and vibration. With 766 litres of net capacity, this is a cabinet for anyone building a collection that is meant to lie for years.

Room for 360 bottles
The 360 bottles are stacked on five levels: 90, 90, 75, 90 and 15 bottles, from top to bottom. Swisscave bases this on a Bordeaux bottle 30 cm tall and 7.6 cm in diameter, with all shelves in place.
Larger bottles, such as a 1.5-litre magnum or a 3-litre bottle, go on the top or bottom shelf. That is where there is the most height.
Solid door and beech wood shelves
The solid door keeps light out completely. That is exactly what you want in a storage cabinet: wine ages best in the dark. In a living space it stands out as a clean black cabinet, with a matt black aluminium door frame and a black coated steel body.
The five shelves are made of beech wood and carry the Swisscave logo on the front. The wood keeps the bottles still and dampens small vibrations.
How the WLA-555F stores your wine
Constant temperature: combined fan and convection cooling distributes the cold air throughout the cabinet. You set the temperature between 5 and 20 °C.
Even in a cold room: thanks to the winter heating function, the cabinet holds the set temperature when the room around it gets colder, for example a garage or cellar in winter. With climate class SN-T, it works in a room between 10 and 43 °C.
Clean air: the active carbon filter keeps the air inside fresh, so outside odours do not affect your wine. Swisscave recommends a humidity of 50 to 70 per cent.
Peace and quiet for the wine: the cabinet has a vibration-free design and runs on an efficient JP-HE compressor with a quiet fan. The noise level is 39 dB(A).
Controls, alarms and security
You operate the cabinet via the panel at the top, which switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit. If the temperature drifts or the door is left open, you will hear a signal. After a power cut, the cabinet remembers the set temperature.

Placement and dimensions
The WLA-555F is a freestanding model. You can also build it in with a shadow gap, in a niche of 204 x 73 x 90 cm. The door is hinged on the right; reversing it to the left is available as an option.
At 147 kg, this is a heavy cabinet. Packed, it measures 204 x 81 x 88 cm: check beforehand that doors, hallways and stairs are wide enough.
