Built-in freezers

Built-in freezers for niches from 72 to 178 cm: 65 to 213 litres, mostly NoFrost, some with IceTower or AutoDoor. 10-year warranty on registration.

A built-in freezer hides behind your kitchen front, just like your built-in fridge. Here you will find 15 models for niches from 72 to 178 cm high: from a compact freezer under a fridge to a tall 213-litre column with an ice maker.

  • Niche 72 to 178 cm 56 to 57 cm wide
  • 65 to 213 litres in 3 to 8 drawers
  • 10-year warranty on registration

Find the right built-in freezer in 3 steps

1. Measure your niche height

Measure the inside of the cabinet. Every model fits a niche 56 to 57 cm wide and 55 cm deep; the height decides how many litres you get.

2. NoFrost or SmartFrost

13 of the 15 models have NoFrost: no more defrosting. With SmartFrost you pay less and defrost now and then, which is quick.

3. Choose the fitting

Fixed door fixes your kitchen front to the freezer door, the sturdiest option. A sliding door lets the front glide along a rail, handy in an existing kitchen.

Niche heights and capacity at a glance

The height of your niche decides the capacity. This is the range:

Niche heightCapacityDrawersFor example
72 cm65 litres3IFNd 3503, IFNbi 3553
88 cm87 to 101 litres4IFd 3904, SIFNci 3954
122 cm129 litres5SIFNdi 4155
140 cm156 litres6SIFNdi 4556
178 cm213 litres8SIFNe 5108, SIFNdi 5188

Torn between two sizes? Choose the niche you already have: a built-in freezer has to fit exactly, or your kitchen front will not close flush.

NoFrost or SmartFrost?

With NoFrost the freezer circulates dry, cold air so no ice builds up. You never defrost and bags do not freeze together. SmartFrost, on the IFd 3904 and IFSd 3904, greatly reduces ice. You rarely defrost, and the smooth inner wall makes it quick. For the least effort, choose NoFrost.

Pure, Plus, Prime or Peak?

  • Pure: everything you need, with a touch display and SuperFrost for fast freezing. See Pure
  • Plus: adds SoftSystem, so the door closes gently. See Plus
  • Prime: a colour display with Touch & Swipe, app control via the built-in SmartDeviceBox and LED lighting. See Prime
  • Peak: the tall 178 cm models, with IceTower or AutoDoor. See Peak

Ice cubes from your built-in freezer

The SIFNdi 5188 and SIFNAd 5188 have an IceTower: an ice maker that makes 0.8 kg of ice a day and keeps up to 5.7 kg in stock. It needs a fixed water connection. The SIFNAd 5188 also has AutoDoor: tap the front and the door opens by itself, even in a handleless kitchen.

Efficient and quiet

The IFNbi 3553 has energy class B and uses 94 kWh a year, the most efficient in this range. All built-in freezers run at 33 to 34 dB, quieter than a calm conversation. Ideal in an open-plan kitchen.

Next to your built-in fridge

A tall built-in freezer next to a built-in fridge of the same height gives a clean wall. The SIFNAd 5188 is also available with a left-hand hinge, so it opens away from the fridge. See also undercounter freezers or all freezers.

Frequently asked questions

What niche size do I need for a built-in freezer?

The niche height decides the model: 72, 88, 122, 140 or 178 cm. The width is 56 to 57 cm and the depth 55 cm. Each product page shows the exact niche size.

What is NoFrost?

With NoFrost no ice builds up: you never defrost and packs do not freeze together. 13 of the 15 built-in freezers have NoFrost.

What is the difference between a fixed door and a sliding door?

With a fixed door your kitchen front is fixed to the freezer door and moves exactly with it; that is the sturdiest. With a sliding door the front glides along a rail, handy in an existing kitchen. The SIFNSe 5128 and IFSd 3904 are sliding-door models.

What is an IceTower?

An IceTower is an ice maker with its own storage drawer: 0.8 kg of ice a day and up to 5.7 kg in stock. It is fitted in the SIFNdi 5188, SIFNbsdi 5188 and SIFNAd 5188 and needs a fixed water connection.

Which built-in freezer is the most efficient?

The IFNbi 3553 for a 72 cm niche: class B and 94 kWh a year. For an 88 cm niche the SIFNci 3954, with class C and 122 kWh a year, is the most efficient.

How long does everything stay frozen in a power cut?

In the built-in freezers 9 to 10 hours, as long as you keep the door closed. The exact time is listed in the specifications on each product page.

Can I put a built-in freezer next to a built-in fridge?

Yes. Choose a freezer and fridge with the same niche height for one clean wall. With a model that is also available with a left-hand hinge, the two doors open away from each other.
