A Hitachi fridge at XARO is a freestanding cabinet in two lines: a French door, or a 2-door fridge freezer. The difference is the width, the capacity, and whether you want a vacuum drawer and a selectable zone. You pick the finish after that. Every model is in the Hitachi range.
The French door: 90 cm and 638 litres
The French door is 90 cm wide, 184 cm high and 72 cm deep, with 638 litres. The doors open sideways, so beside that 90 cm you also need swing room. The mirror reflects the kitchen and stands out in an open layout. Grey is quieter next to steel, concrete or wood. White sits with light fronts.
Mirror, grey, white and one black finish share the vacuum drawer and the selectable zone. The cabinet also has to fit through the front door, the hallway and the kitchen door. 90 cm wide and 72 cm deep is the size you measure for that.
Two black French doors, not the same cabinet
Black is not only a colour choice. The black French door with vacuum drawer belongs with mirror, grey and white: the same size, plus vacuum drawer and selectable zone. The other black French door is also 90 cm wide and 638 litres, without that vacuum drawer and without a selectable zone.
Both black French doors do have an ice maker with a tank, so no water connection, and No Frost. Choose the finish with the vacuum drawer if you want meat and fish to keep longer and a compartment on its own temperature. Choose the other black one if you want the size and you will not use those two functions.
The 2-door: just under 60 cm and 320 litres
The freestanding 2-door fridge freezer fits where 90 cm will not. It is 190 cm high, 59.5 cm wide and 65 cm deep, with 320 litres. That is half the French door, in a cabinet that stands in a normal 60 cm space. The doors are narrower, and so is the route through the house.
There are two finishes in that same size. The 2-door in black is plain. The 2-door with a white-to-black gradient has a glass front that runs from white to black. In the fridge section there is a drawer with two positions: dairy and meat, or vegetables. The controls sit in the glass front.
Do not expect a vacuum drawer or a selectable zone here. That is the French door line, not this cabinet. At the bottom of this page you see both 2-door finishes next to the French doors.
Vacuum drawer and selectable zone
Those two functions decide whether a French door is more than a large black or mirrored cabinet. The vacuum drawer lowers the air pressure. Meat, fish and dairy keep their taste longer than in a normal drawer. The selectable zone is one compartment you set yourself: fridge at 3°C, meat at 1°C, soft freeze at -3°C, or freezer at -18°C.
Mirror, grey, white and the black French door with vacuum drawer have both. The other black French door and the 2-door do not. Check the product page for which model actually has them.
Buying a Hitachi fridge at XARO
First the space, then the function, then the colour. If 90 cm plus the opening doors fit, and you want the vacuum drawer and selectable zone, the French door in mirror, grey, white or black-with-vacuum-drawer is the line. If you want that size without those two functions, the other black French door is enough. If the space is 60 cm, the 2-door is the cabinet.
