Find the right chest freezer in 3 steps

1. Measure the width

Every chest freezer is 82 cm high and 71 cm deep. The width decides the capacity: 104, 125 or 167 cm.

2. Choose your capacity

192 to 281 litres for a family, 353 to 497 litres if you buy in bulk or freeze your own vegetables.

3. Choose your energy class

Class C or D uses far less than class E and also stays cold longer: 50 hours against 40 in a power cut.

At the same width, a class E chest holds more litres because its walls are thinner. A class C or D chest has thicker insulation: fewer litres, but more efficient and cold for longer.

SmartFrost and StopFrost

Every chest freezer has SmartFrost: far less ice forms, and the smooth inner wall makes defrosting quick. StopFrost lets in less moisture when you open the lid, so you can open it again straight after closing and less frost forms around the edge.

In the garage or shed

Thanks to FrostProtect the chest freezers keep working in a room down to -15 °C, and with climate class SN-T up to 43 °C. An unheated garage or shed is no problem.

Chest freezer or freestanding freezer?

A chest freezer gives more litres for your money and stays cold longer, but you reach in from the top. A freestanding freezer with drawers is easier to organise and takes up less floor space. See also all freezers.
