The Swisscave Classic 455 WLB-455F is a freestanding wine climate cabinet for 163 Bordeaux bottles, 172 cm high and 59.5 cm wide. It is part of the Swisscave Classic Edition: proven wine cabinets focused on a reliable climate and plenty of room for bottles. One temperature zone, adjustable from 5 to 20 °C, keeps the whole collection at the same, constant temperature.
Behind the glass door the bottles rest on 7 beech wood shelves that pull out. The cabinet is built for long-term storage and ageing of wine.

Room for 163 bottles
The 163 bottles rest on 7 shelves made of beech wood. The shelves pull out on ball-bearing telescopic runners.
Swisscave bases this on Bordeaux bottles with all shelves in place. Larger bottles, such as a 1.5-litre magnum, go on the top or bottom shelf. The image shows the bottle layout according to Swisscave.
Glass door and lighting
The door is made of two layers of UV-resistant, gas-filled insulating glass. This keeps harmful light out and the cold in. The door frame is made of matt black aluminium. A handle in anodised, brushed aluminium is available as an option. The body is made of black coated steel.
Blue ceiling lighting lights the bottles from above; a separate switch turns the lighting on or off.
How the WLB-455F stores your wine
Constant temperature: combined fan and convection cooling distributes the cold air throughout the cabinet. You set the temperature between 5 and 20 °C.
Even in a cold room: thanks to the winter heating function, the cabinet holds the set temperature when the room around it gets colder. With climate class SN-T, it works in a room between 10 and 43 °C.
Clean air: the active carbon filter keeps the air inside fresh, so outside odours do not affect your wine. Swisscave recommends a humidity of 50 to 70 per cent.
Peace and quiet for the wine: the cabinet has a vibration-free design and runs on an efficient JP-HE compressor with a quiet fan. The noise level is 39 dB(A). The refrigerant is the environmentally friendly R600a.
Controls, alarms and security
You operate the cabinet via the control panel, which switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit. If the temperature drifts or the door is left open, you will hear a signal. After a power cut, the cabinet remembers the set temperature.

Placement and dimensions
The WLB-455F is freestanding, but you can also build it in with a shadow gap, in a niche of 172 x 61.5 x 75 cm (h x w x d). The Swisscave installation drawing shows the exact dimensions for the niche and the ventilation. The door is hinged on the right; reversing it to the left is available as an option.
At 91 kg, this is a heavy cabinet. Packed, it measures 187 x 64.5 x 77.7 cm: check beforehand that doors, hallways and stairs are wide enough.
