The Swisscave Luxury 440 WLC-440DFL is a freestanding wine climate cabinet for 82 Bordeaux bottles, 174.5 cm high and 55.5 cm wide. It is part of the Swisscave Premium Edition: the balanced specification for demanding storage and refined presentation, made for everyday use. Two temperature zones, each adjustable from 5 to 20 °C, let you keep red and white wine at the right temperature at the same time.
Behind the glass door the bottles rest on 13 sapele (mahogany) wood shelves that pull out. The cabinet is built to store wine and bring it to the right serving temperature.

Room for 82 bottles
The 82 bottles rest on 13 shelves made of untreated sapele (mahogany) wood with handy grip bars. The shelves are mixed: half are made for Bordeaux bottles, half for Burgundy bottles. The shelves pull out on ball-bearing telescopic runners.
Swisscave bases this on Bordeaux bottles with all shelves in place. Larger bottles, such as a 1.5-litre magnum, go on the top or bottom shelf.
Glass door and lighting
The glass door has double, UV-resistant glazing, so your wine stays protected from light. A slim edge of black anodised, brushed aluminium frames the glass. The body is made of black coated steel.
You set the RGB lighting to one of 10 colours, and a separate switch turns it on or off.
How the WLC-440DFL stores your wine
Two zones: you set both temperature zones independently, from 5 to 20 °C. Combined fan and convection cooling distributes the cold air evenly.
Even in a cold room: thanks to the winter heating function, the cabinet holds the set temperature when the room around it gets colder. With climate class SN-T, it works in a room between 10 and 43 °C.
Clean air: two active carbon filters keep the air inside fresh, so outside odours do not affect your wine. Swisscave recommends a humidity of 50 to 70 per cent.
Peace and quiet for the wine: the cabinet has a vibration-free design and runs on a speed-controlled Embraco Fullmotion compressor with a quiet fan. The noise level is 39 dB(A). The refrigerant is the environmentally friendly R600a.
Smart modes: choose between Silent, Eco and Sabbath mode.
Controls, alarms and security
On the control panel, two digital displays show both the set and the actual temperature. If the temperature drifts or the door is left open, you will hear a signal. After a power cut, the cabinet remembers the set temperature.

Placement and dimensions
The WLC-440DFL is freestanding, but you can also build it in with a shadow gap, in a niche of 174.5 x 57 x 56 cm (h x w x d). The door is hinged on the right; reversing it to the left is available as an option.
At 93 kg, this is a heavy cabinet. Packed, it measures 185 x 65 x 65 cm: check beforehand that doors, hallways and stairs are wide enough.
