The Swisscave Touch to Open 178 WIB-178DFT is a built-in wine climate cabinet for 94 Bordeaux bottles, 181.6 cm high and 59.5 cm wide. It is part of the Swisscave Luxury Kitchen: developed for precise integration into high-quality kitchens, with refined materials and presentation lighting. Two temperature zones, each adjustable from 5 to 20 °C, let you keep red and white wine at the right temperature at the same time.
Behind the glass door the bottles rest on 14 sapele (mahogany) wood shelves that pull out. The cabinet is built to store wine and bring it to the right serving temperature.

Room for 94 bottles
The 94 bottles rest on 14 shelves made of untreated sapele (mahogany) wood with handy grip bars. The shelves are mixed: half are made for Bordeaux bottles, half for Burgundy bottles. Each shelf pulls out up to 80 per cent on ball-bearing telescopic runners, so you can easily reach the bottles at the back too.
Swisscave bases this on Bordeaux bottles with all shelves in place. Larger bottles, such as a 1.5-litre magnum, go on the top or bottom shelf. The image shows the bottle layout according to Swisscave.
Touch to Open and lighting
The door is made of three layers of UV-resistant, gas-filled insulating glass. This keeps harmful light out and the cold in. There is no frame: the door is all glass. No handle needed: with Touch to Open, the door opens with a light push. The body is made of black coated steel.
Inside, all-round lighting creates an attractive presentation. You choose the colour yourself: white, blue or amber, and switch the lighting on or off with its own switch.
How the WIB-178DFT stores your wine
Two zones: you set both temperature zones independently, from 5 to 20 °C. Combined fan and convection cooling distributes the cold air evenly.
Even in a cold room: thanks to the winter heating function, the cabinet holds the set temperature when the room around it gets colder. With climate class SN-T, it works in a room between 10 and 43 °C.
Clean air: two active carbon filters keep the air inside fresh, so outside odours do not affect your wine. Swisscave recommends a humidity of 50 to 70 per cent.
Peace and quiet for the wine: the cabinet has a vibration-free design and runs on a speed-controlled Embraco Fullmotion compressor with a quiet fan. The noise level is 41 dB(A). The refrigerant is the environmentally friendly R600a.
Controls, alarms and security
On the control panel, two digital displays show both the set and the actual temperature. If the temperature drifts or the door is left open, you will hear a signal. After a power cut, the cabinet remembers the set temperature.

The WIB-178DFT is made to be built into a kitchen unit. The niche measures 178 x 56 x 58.1 cm (h x w x d). The Swisscave installation drawing shows the exact dimensions for the niche and the ventilation. The door is hinged on the right; reversing it to the left is available as an option.
