The Swisscave Luxury Display 460 WLB-460DFLD-MIX is a freestanding wine climate cabinet for 134 Bordeaux bottles, 172 cm high and 59.5 cm wide. It is part of the Swisscave Luxury Edition: the highest equipment line of the freestanding Swisscave cabinets, with refined materials and an exceptional presentation of your wine. Two separately adjustable temperature zones (top 9 to 20 °C, bottom 5 to 16 °C) let you keep red and white wine at the right temperature at the same time.

Behind the glass door the bottles rest on 7 sapele (mahogany) wood shelves that pull out. The cabinet is built for long-term storage and ageing of wine.

The benefits at a glance

  • 134 Bordeaux bottles on 7 sapele (mahogany) wood shelves
  • Two temperature zones: top 9 to 20 °C, bottom 5 to 16 °C
  • Glass door with three layers of UV-resistant glass
  • 6 display shelves for bottles presented at an angle
  • Shelves extend up to 80 per cent
  • All-round lighting in white, blue or amber
  • Winter heating, suitable for rooms from 10 to 43 °C
  • Two active carbon filters
  • Quiet: 38 dB(A)
  • Freestanding or built in with a shadow gap
  • 5-year warranty

Room for 134 bottles

The 134 bottles rest on 7 shelves made of untreated sapele (mahogany) wood with handy grip bars. The shelves are mixed: half are made for Bordeaux bottles, half for Burgundy bottles. 6 of them are display shelves, where the bottles lie at an angle so you can see your collection. Each shelf pulls out up to 80 per cent on ball-bearing telescopic runners, so you can easily reach the bottles at the back too.

Swisscave bases this on Bordeaux bottles with all shelves in place. Remove some of the shelves and there is room for 200 bottles. Larger bottles, such as a 1.5-litre magnum, go on the top or bottom shelf. The image shows the bottle layout according to Swisscave.

Glass door and lighting

The door is made of three layers of UV-resistant, gas-filled insulating glass. This keeps harmful light out and the cold in. A slim edge of black anodised, brushed aluminium frames the glass. A handle in anodised, brushed aluminium is available as an option. The body is made of black anodised steel.

Inside, all-round lighting creates an attractive presentation. You choose the colour yourself: white, blue or amber, and switch the lighting on or off with its own switch.

How the WLB-460DFLD-MIX stores your wine

Two zones: you set the top zone from 9 to 20 °C and the bottom zone from 5 to 16 °C. Combined fan and convection cooling distributes the cold air evenly.

Even in a cold room: thanks to the winter heating function, the cabinet holds the set temperature when the room around it gets colder. With climate class SN-T, it works in a room between 10 and 43 °C.

Clean air: two active carbon filters keep the air inside fresh, so outside odours do not affect your wine. Swisscave recommends a humidity of 50 to 70 per cent.

Peace and quiet for the wine: the cabinet has a vibration-free design and runs on a speed-controlled Embraco Fullmotion compressor with a quiet fan. The noise level is 38 dB(A). The refrigerant is the environmentally friendly R600a.

Controls, alarms and security

On the control panel, two digital displays show both the set and the actual temperature. If the temperature drifts or the door is left open, you will hear a signal. After a power cut, the cabinet remembers the set temperature.

  • Audible temperature alarm and door alarm
  • Temperature memory after a power failure
  • Door lock
  • Separate on/off switch for the lighting
  • Automatic defrost with a condensation water container
  • Tilt protection and adjustable feet for uneven floors
  • Shelf trims available in 5 colours of brushed, anodised aluminium

Placement and dimensions

The WLB-460DFLD-MIX is freestanding, but you can also build it in with a shadow gap, in a niche of 172 x 61.5 x 75 cm (h x w x d). The Swisscave installation drawing shows the exact dimensions for the niche and the ventilation. The door is hinged on the right; reversing it to the left is available as an option.

At 91 kg, this is a heavy cabinet. Packed, it measures 175 x 63 x 76.2 cm: check beforehand that doors, hallways and stairs are wide enough.

  • Outer dimensions (h x w x d): 172 x 59.5 x 72.5 cm

Frequently asked questions about Swisscave Luxury Display 460 WLB-460DFLD-MIX wine climate cabinet (2 zones) 134 bottles

What is the Swisscave WLB-460DFLD-MIX?

The Swisscave Luxury Display 460 WLB-460DFLD-MIX is a freestanding wine climate cabinet from the Swisscave Luxury Edition, with two temperature zones for null Bordeaux bottles (379 litres). Swisscave is a Swiss brand that has focused solely on wine storage since 2012.

How big is the WLB-460DFLD-MIX?

Exterior height x width x depth: 172 x 59.5 x 72.5 cm. To place it between furniture, allow a space of 172 x 61.5 x 75 cm. Leave room at the back for ventilation.

How do the two zones of the WLB-460DFLD-MIX work?

The upper zone runs from 5 to 16 °C, the lower from 9 to 20 °C. Ideal for white and sparkling on top and red below.

What is a display shelf?

On a display shelf the bottles lie at an angle with the label facing forward, so you see your collection at a glance. That takes some space, so it holds slightly fewer bottles than the version without.

Do magnum bottles fit in the WLB-460DFLD-MIX?

Yes, larger bottles such as a magnum fit on the top and bottom shelves. The stated null bottles assume standard Bordeaux bottles. The pull-out shelves are sapele mahogany.

How efficient and quiet is the WLB-460DFLD-MIX?

Energy label G, about 175 kWh a year, 38 dB. An active carbon filter keeps the air fresh. The cooling runs with low vibration, so the wine rests undisturbed. A winter heating function keeps the temperature right in a cold room.

What warranty does the WLB-460DFLD-MIX have?

Swisscave gives a 5-year warranty on the WLB-460DFLD-MIX, under the Swisscave warranty terms. Spare parts remain available for at least 10 years. Questions about placement or choice? Contact us.
