The Swisscave Classic Built-in 88 WIB-88DF-CLASS is a built-in wine climate cabinet for 40 Bordeaux bottles, 88.6 cm high and 59 cm wide. It is part of the Swisscave Classic Kitchen: reliable climate control for straightforward kitchen integration, functional and deliberately understated. Two temperature zones, each adjustable from 5 to 20 °C, let you keep red and white wine at the right temperature at the same time.

Behind the glass door the bottles rest on 5 beech wood shelves that pull out. The cabinet is built to store wine and bring it to the right serving temperature.

The benefits at a glance

  • 40 Bordeaux bottles on 5 beech wood shelves
  • Two temperature zones, each 5 to 20 °C
  • Glass door with double UV-resistant glass
  • White all-round lighting
  • Winter heating, suitable for rooms from 10 to 43 °C
  • Active carbon filter
  • Quiet: 40 dB(A)
  • Made for kitchen installation
  • 2-year warranty

Room for 40 bottles

The 40 bottles rest on 5 shelves made of beech wood. The shelves are mixed: half are made for Bordeaux bottles, half for Burgundy bottles. The shelves pull out on ball-bearing telescopic runners.

Swisscave bases this on Bordeaux bottles with all shelves in place. Larger bottles, such as a 1.5-litre magnum, go on the top or bottom shelf. The image shows the bottle layout according to Swisscave.

Glass door and lighting

The glass door has double, UV-resistant glazing, so your wine stays protected from light. There is no frame: the door is all glass. The handle is made of anodised, brushed aluminium. The body is made of black coated steel.

White all-round lighting shows off your bottles; a separate switch turns the lighting on or off.

How the WIB-88DF-CLASS stores your wine

Two zones: you set both temperature zones independently, from 5 to 20 °C. Combined fan and convection cooling distributes the cold air evenly.

Even in a cold room: thanks to the winter heating function, the cabinet holds the set temperature when the room around it gets colder. With climate class SN-T, it works in a room between 10 and 43 °C.

Clean air: the active carbon filter keeps the air inside fresh, so outside odours do not affect your wine. Swisscave recommends a humidity of 50 to 70 per cent.

Peace and quiet for the wine: the cabinet has a vibration-free design and runs on an efficient JP-HE compressor with a quiet fan. The noise level is 40 dB(A). The refrigerant is the environmentally friendly R600a.

Controls, alarms and security

On the control panel, two digital displays show both the set and the actual temperature. If the temperature drifts or the door is left open, you will hear a signal. After a power cut, the cabinet remembers the set temperature.

  • Audible temperature alarm and door alarm
  • Temperature memory after a power failure
  • Door lock
  • Separate on/off switch for the lighting
  • Automatic defrost with a condensation water container
  • Tilt protection and adjustable feet for uneven floors
  • Shelf trims available in 5 colours of brushed, anodised aluminium
