The Swisscave Classic 355 WL355F is a freestanding wine climate cabinet from the Swisscave Classic Edition, with one temperature zone for 111 Bordeaux bottles (265 litres). Swisscave is a Swiss brand that has focused solely on wine storage since 2012.

How big is the WL355F?

Exterior height x width x depth: 120 x 59.5 x 71 cm. To place it between furniture, allow a space of 127 x 61.5 x 75 cm. Leave room at the back for ventilation.

What is one zone good for?

The whole cabinet keeps one temperature, adjustable between 5 to 20 °C. Around 12 °C you store and age wine; lower or higher you set it to serving temperature for white or red.

Do magnum bottles fit in the WL355F?

Yes, larger bottles such as a magnum fit on the top and bottom shelves. The stated 111 bottles assume standard Bordeaux bottles. The pull-out shelves are beech wood.

Room for 111 bottles

The 111 bottles rest on 5 shelves made of beech wood. The shelves pull out on ball-bearing telescopic runners.

Swisscave bases this on Bordeaux bottles with all shelves in place. Larger bottles, such as a 1.5-litre magnum, go on the top or bottom shelf.

Glass door and lighting

The door is made of two layers of UV-resistant, gas-filled insulating glass. This keeps harmful light out and the cold in. The door frame is made of matt black aluminium. A handle in anodised, brushed aluminium is available as an option. The body is made of black coated steel.

Blue ceiling lighting lights the bottles from above; a separate switch turns the lighting on or off.

How the WL355F stores your wine

Constant temperature: combined fan and convection cooling distributes the cold air throughout the cabinet. You set the temperature between 5 and 20 °C.

Even in a cold room: thanks to the winter heating function, the cabinet holds the set temperature when the room around it gets colder. With climate class SN-T, it works in a room between 10 and 43 °C.

Clean air: the active carbon filter keeps the air inside fresh, so outside odours do not affect your wine. Swisscave recommends a humidity of 50 to 70 per cent.

Peace and quiet for the wine: the cabinet has a vibration-free design and runs on an efficient JP-HE compressor with a quiet fan. The noise level is 40 dB(A). The refrigerant is the environmentally friendly R600a.

Controls, alarms and security

You operate the cabinet via the control panel, which switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit. If the temperature drifts or the door is left open, you will hear a signal. After a power cut, the cabinet remembers the set temperature.
